Recognizing the difficulty in entering and exiting a kayak, the concept developed of having an aid to make it much more user friendly. This would enable all levels of capability to enjoy the sport of kayaking without the fear of getting in and getting out without incident. For example; a very ungraceful, unplanned half eskimo roll!!
The concept was initially created from a customer request by an elderly person wanting to be able to continue their much loved kayak hobby in an area with a rough and deep shoreline. The original design was developed to attach to a floating dock with subsequent design growth allowing more flexibility in different applications.
The Kayak Buddy has features that include lightweight portability, rust free in both fresh and salt water, quick to assemble and disassemble on site and width adjustment. The kayak easily enters and exits the unit with rollers incorporated on the V- shaped cradle . The Kayak Buddy, easily used at shore, can also be attached to a dock using a tether or a Kayak Buddy ladder system (optional). With your Kayak Buddy you extend the life of the bottom of your beautiful kayak because it doesn’t come in contact with the rocks or gravel.
